Today was Caleb's last day of Mother's Day out for the year. He had such a good time! Thank you Miss Shawn and Miss Lori for making this time so fun for him!!!

Caleb LOVES school. He goes from 9-11am every Monday and Friday. He is such a big boy and he hangs in there with the older kids! Most days he comes home and can barely eat because he is so tired. School is usually followed up with a 3-4 hour nap!

Caleb is definitely taking after his Aunt Andrea. He loves the beach. That is all he wanted to do. We went twice a day most of the days we were is Ponte Vedra, FL and he loved it!! He was not afraid of the water at all, he kept wanting to go in deeper. Great. A kid with no fear!!
We had a wonderful time and Caleb did amazingly well on the plane!!

Down with the sickness

Caleb came down with a cold on the 17th. He is still a little snotty and a cough sometimes, but at least I have my little boy back. Dave and I also found out how good a sharing this little guy is, he shared his sickness with both of us! Thank you Caleb!
We learned the hard way that when you hold your child all of the time when he is sick, they get used to that..so we are breaking that right now. Fun for all. He can certainly throw a tantrum!!!

Ok...so..he can definitely dance and he can say a few words, but this weekend he showed us how he could walk!!! He is still a little shaky, but he can certainly make his way around the house. He had been toddeling along the last couple weeks or so, but no more than 6 steps at a time. It finally clicked this weekend that he can get places other than cruising or crawling!

So I have kind of been a slacker when it comes to the blog. A month or so I tried to upload a video and photo and I waited and it took forever so I abandoned my posting for a while out of frustration.

A lot has happened. The biggest thing is that Caleb is ONE! We just can't believe it. At his one year appointment we found out he is in the 72% (30.5 inches) in height and the 5% (19.45 pounds) in weight. Go figure...

His first birthday was puppy themed. I think everyone had a great time. I got a lot of toys and clothes from friends and family.. He did a great job at smashing and eating his cake.

He has 10 teeth now including 2 molars.

He is still a great sleeper. He sleeps from 8pm-@8am every night. We are blessed...I know..

His favorite foods are bread, cheese slices, string cheese, diced cheese, yogurt, kix cereal, did I mention cheese? :)

Nana and PaPa Fridley watch him T-F and GG and Grandpa Dolak watch him on Monday.
He is thriving because of the loving care he gets from his family.

He is such a HAPPY kid and is definitely a "people person"...
He can't hear music or any kind of "beat" without dancing...he entertains many people in church...

He is a MASTER on the stairs. He can go up and down with ease. He is very cautious, but he thinks he is a big deal when he is climbing.

David and I are so blessed, we couldn't have dreamed of a better child. We love you Caleb!

Caleb has been eating like a horse lately. He is really into "real people food" such as mac and cheese, bread, baked potatoes etc. He is also pulling himself up in his bed. He really likes throwing his pacifier and then pulling himself up and screaming..:)

So..today I put Caleb in the Pack N Play and he proceeded to put both hands up on the rail and pull himself up (numerous times). As his mother...I was of course impressed... THEN he pulled himself all the way up on his feet!! Good job Caleb!

9 month Dr's appointment

Caleb had his 9 month doctors appointment on Saturday 9/18/10. He is 17lbs 11oz and 28.5 inches long..
Poor little guy got his last Hep shot and THEN HAD TO HAVE 2 HUGE VILES of blood drawn. Mom almost passed out!! (Seriously, the lady drawing the blood kept asking me if I was ok). :) Evidently this is a new thing where they check for lead in the blood and check for anemia....Thank goodness Dave was there!!

Today Caleb turned 9 months. That first birthday is going to be here before we know it!! He already has 4 teeth in and 3 more have broken through as well! He still eats like a horse and eating more and more. He wants to eat anything that adults are eating. He really likes bean dip from El Maguey. (Of course in moderation). Halloween is coming up and I am trying to decide what the little guy is going to go as. I am thinking a spider but we will see...

Caleb has never been that big of a fan of baby food. He is now eating it A LOT better though. His favorite thing to do when he is full is to blow the food off the spoon and then laugh...ahh...little boys..
He loves "big people food" he had cantaloupe, cinnamon maple crisps, and bean dip from El Maguey...dont ask, but he LOVED it. His favorite thing to do is drink water out of mommy's cup at dinner. He does such a good job. Don't worry Nana, he didn't have alot, just a few tastes. He is such an eater...nothing new there.

I know i haven't posted in a LONG time. I have been having some problems with the Blogger account. Caleb is now 8 and a half months old. He is crawling......everywhere. He especially loves wires...any kind. He certainly has a mind of his own. He does not like it when we divert from his plan. :) We love it though...he is such a sweetheart. Pictures to come!

July 6th Dave came down with what we think was a cold. As you can imagine, I was scared Caleb was going to get it. I sanitized and disinfected the house so much that I think the finish is coming off the furniture..

Anyway, Caleb got a little sick (the night of July 10th), two days of a cough and an occasional stuffy nose on and off for about four days, nothing Vicks vapor rub on the feet cant handle (yeah, sounds weird but it works!).

I thought I was coming down with this plague on Friday, had a day or two of a minor sore throat, and then it was gone! I attribute my occupation to my hard as nails immune system (thank you children for all of the birthday treats on my desk). It is now July 19th and Dave still has it. :( He gets better everyday though!

He is almost rolling over.

He is almost teething (evident by being a drool monster and he is chewing on EVERYTHING!)

He is also almost fluent in Spanish (ok, that is a lie, I just wanted to see if you were paying attention)

He is almost holding his own bottle.

He is almost up on his hands and knees (we will see when he crawls people)!!!

We also noticed that he is shedding his black hair and hair with a definite reddish tint is growing in. Here comes the Irish!! We will see what happens.

He continues to be a sweet little boy. We had a great Easter this past Sunday. GG, GB and Uncle Jon visited and Nana and Papa came over as well. Unfortunately the Easter Bunny brought a TON of candy and mommy's body is in shock from all of the sugar!!!

Caleb is sleeping from 10:30-8:00 regularly now. That is such a treat!! We have our next appointment on April 24th, we cant wait to see how much he has grown. I will post new pictures from Easter soon.

Tomorrow we have a long day at the funeral home. Caleb's Great Uncle Don Fridley passed away last Thursday. We are all very sad, but we are all grateful for the memories with Uncle Don. We are so glad that Caleb got to meet him. He was a great man.

Caleb is 3 months old today. We are so blessed, he has been sleeping through the night pretty consistently since he was 6 weeks. Today he slept in until 8:00am!! We attempted measuring him ourselves today and it looks like he is 24 inches long and @ 13 pounds. He is getting so big so fast. We hope you like the video of him "flying" :) Please do not pay attention to anything I say on any video I post. Something must happen to your brain when you have a child to make yourself sound stupid on any video you record.

We had our two month check up last Tuesday (Feb 16th). Everything looked awesome and he took his shots like a champ...Mom of course made dad take a half day because she wasnt sure if she could handle the shots!

Caleb weighed in at 11.1 lbs and 23 inches long. Considering he was born at 7.1 pounds and 19.5 inches long...that is pretty good!

Caleb has LOVED the olympics and whenever there is music, he dances his heart out! He is not sure what to think about "ice dancing" however...

Mom went back to work on Feb 8th...it has been an ad

Caleb is still sleeping well thru the night. We are SOOOO lucky he is doing that. He sleeps from 10:30-5:45 or so. Sometimes he even sleeps until close to 7am!!

The weather has been horrible at best lately. We are just praying for spring weather soon so Caleb knows what "outside" is!!

It is hard to believe that Mr. Caleb is one month old already. Everything is going so well.I wonder if there will ever be a Tuesday that I don't look at the clock at 12:45pm and think of him being born.

Mommy is a little overwhelmed because of the amount of food he eats. He is and has been eating over 30 ounces a day for the past two weeks. This morning he downed 11 ounces in 3.5 ounces. OH MY. Everyone says that will taper off, they have been saying that for a couple weeks now and he just keeps eating more and more. I can't wait until 4 months, hopefully the Dr. will allow us to have rice cereal by then to help curb that hunger a bit. We have a doctors appointment on Monday. Pray that everything goes well.

He has been sleeping really well the last three weeks...only waking up once during the night. Mommy has the 2:30 shift and Daddy takes care of the 6:00am shift. This seems to be working out really well.

We had Parents As Teachers come on Tuesday and everything seems to be on track.

Mommy took a video of our first complete bath in the baby bath tub last night, but mommy promised Caleb and his future girlfriend that she would not post Caleb completely nude on the web...:)

Caleb will be baptized this Sunday, Jan 17, at the 10:45 service with friends and family present.

Mommy is adjusting to the thought of leaving Caleb and going back to work February 8th. Never thought this time would go so fast.....but I thank God for the amount of time my job is allowing me to spend with the little guy!

Things went REALLY well yesterday! I woke up yesterday at one and thought that I was kind of
cramping..but...I fell back asleep. I woke up at 2:01am and knew that I WAS NOT falling back asleep,
but, my contractions were only 3 minutes apart and lasting at least a minute so I thought I was in false
labor...I mean who in the world starts at contractions only 3 minutes apart? Well, I guess I do. I finally
went to the hospital @ 3:45am because they just weren't stopping. I got to the hospital and long story
short went from a 3 to a 10 in 6 hours, contractions at 3 minutes apart the WHOLE time. We had to wait
a while for the doctor to get here and I started pushing at 12:35 and he was born at 12:45. How crazy
is that!!!! So Caleb David was born December 15th at 12:45pm. He was 7pounds 1oz, 19.5 inches
long...so..not as big as anyone thought...THANK GOODNESS!!! Dave and I thank God for a great
pregnancy,a GREAT delivery and precious baby boy. Thank you for all everything and for all of your
prayers.

39 Weeks

I had my Dr.'s appointment yesterday. I mentally felt like a went back to a place I would never have to be again...my childhood. Let me explain....
It is the same kind of situation when I would be nagging my mom for something when I was little "When???" and I would hear "in a little bit" and I knew "a little bit" was not going to be "little" enough. That is pretty much how it felt at the Dr.'s yesterday. I am still at 2cm and 80%. So I have one week to go and they scheduled my induction because of "the size of the baby". Great. They say he is in the high 7's, low 8's already and they dont want him to get too big. My body and I thank you Dr. Shores. So...Uncle Don...looks like you may be right..you might be sharing a birthday! If nothing happens this week I will be induced at 7:00am on the 21st.

I had another Dr.'s appointment today....I am now 2cm. My next appointment is next Friday and my Dr said that would be ok..so..it leads me to believe he won't be here until after the 11th!! Sounds good to me! We are so excited to meet him, but there is so much to wrap up at the same time..I could use any additional days God grants us. Dave's last night class for the semester is tonight....my mother reminded me that tonight is the last night I have the whole house to myself....for a long time and to enjoy it.....thanks mom. :)

I had a doctors appointment today and found out I am 1cm. The more important news is that they won't let me go past the my due date, but he will probably be here sooner. It is so crazy to think that he is almost here!!

Ok people...I now understand why women have been telling me for the last couple of months that the last month you will just want to be done being pregnant. I have had a great pregnancy! I feel great all of the time. I haven't even gotten so much as a cold since school started! God has really watched over me and the baby and is keeping us both healthy. The only problem is that I actually feel like he is going to kick his way out of my belly....right thru the rib cage. This kid is going to be a D-I football kicker.

I was officially suprised three times this last week by family, friends and co-workers. Yes...it was a suprise all three times. For those of you who know me, I was tricked once because I was told we have coupons for free food...Does that sounds like something I would fall for or what!!??!!
It is so touching that so many people love this little guy already and he isn't even here yet!

I am already getting judged as a parent. We have had a lot of kids sick with various things at school and my doctor does not want me to get sick before this H1N1 vaccine is available in the shot form. So, she put me on tamiflu. I went to the pharmacy to pick it up on Friday and got the 3rd degree from the pharm. assistant for taking it!! She acted like I was hurting my child in a bad way...Just ring me up lady! (That is what normal, non pregnant Allison would have snapped back with.) Pregnant Allison came home doubting herself, her doctor, and officially cried for the 3rd time in her pregnancy.........
Thank goodness we have a pharmacist for a second opinion in the "family". Thanks Dr. Bray!!

So....today my wonderful and supportive cousin asked me at school if I swallowed a watermelon........thanks..:)
All joking aside....I am a little anxious to see how big this boy is going to be....I was close to a 10 pound baby...
My doctor stated "you are all baby" at my appointment last Friday. Some might find those comforting words. I do not. I would love for this kid to actually be able to use his infant car seat a few months and actually wear "newborn clothes"!
I start my two week appointments now...so my next appt is October 30th. Boy, this is going to fly by. 1st quarter is over already and I only have one more to go before the little guy is here! David and I (well David) started painting the room this weekend..I taped. The only thing left to get is a chair for the room.

Wow does time fly!! I had my 27 week check up today. Next month I start going every two weeks. Crazy!! I am so blessed to have an awesome pregnancy. I feel great, the baby is moving around alot, a feeling that is so neat and hillarious at the same time. People at school have said "I have really popped out this week". Thanks, I think. :)
I took the dreaded glucose test today. Ends up...there was nothing to dread. The drink was not bad at all..actually tasted better than McDonald's orange soda. Now, let's all pray for good results on the test!
This week we (Dave) also put together the baby furniture nad I organized the baby's closet and the rest of the room. Nesting is a wonderful thing. I will post pictures of "the belly" and the room soon.
